The first impression is everything. A well-chosen thumbnail captures your audience's attention and encourages them to click play. In the new Tolstoy platform, you have the power to create dynamic, 3-second hover previews or upload a sleek, custom image to represent your content.

Follow these steps to update the visual preview of your videos:

  1. Access the New Platform: Log in to your Tolstoy account at https://platform.gotolstoy.com.

  2. Navigate to the Library: On the left-hand navigation panel, select Library.

  3. Select Your Video: Locate the video you wish to update. To find your content faster, use the Library Filter to narrow down your video list.

  4. Open Thumbnail Settings: Once you have found the video, click the Menu Options (kebab icon) > More > Set Thumbnail.

  5. Choose Your Thumbnail Style: You have two ways to customize your video's appearance:

    • Option A: 3-Second Video Preview: Click and drag your mouse across the video timeline to select a 3-second segment. When saved, this clip will play as a preview whenever a viewer hovers their mouse over the video.

    • Option B: Custom Image Upload: Select the upload option to choose a static image file directly from your device for a clean, branded look.

  6. Save Your Changes: Once you are satisfied with your selection, click Save to apply the update.

Key Definitions for Your Team

  • Hover Preview: A dynamic 3-second loop that acts as a "teaser," helping users see what the video is about before they even click.

  • Library Filter: A tool that allows you to sort by date, tags, or content type, making it easier to manage large volumes of video assets.
