10. Advanced Functionality & Store Integrations
You can also ask the AI Widget Builder to help customize how shoppers interact with your videos and store.
These examples may require theme-specific functions, custom events, or additional configuration. Replace the sample names with the functions and events used by your website.
Use your store's cart drawer
When a shopper clicks Add to Cart, add the item using my theme's cart functionality and automatically open the cart drawer. My theme uses window.theme.cart.addItem(variantId, quantity) and window.theme.cart.open().
Open your store's quick view
When a shopper clicks a product inside my widget, open my store's quick view instead of navigating to the product page. My quick view uses a "quickview" event with the product URL in its detail.
Open the video player from a website button
On product pages, open the Tolstoy video player in full screen when a shopper clicks my "Watch Videos" button with the ID "watch-videos".
Close the video player when the cart opens
Automatically close the full-screen video player when my store's cart drawer opens so shoppers can view their cart.
Send events to Google Tag Manager
Push events to my Google Tag Manager dataLayer when a shopper plays a video, clicks a product, or adds a product to the cart. Use the event names tolstoy_video_play, tolstoy_product_click, and tolstoy_add_to_cart.
Prevent conflicts with your store's features
Make sure my widget works with my store's existing cart drawer and product quick view without replacing or breaking their functionality.
Tips for Writing Better AI Prompts
For the best results:
Be specific. Instead of saying "Make my videos smaller," try "Make my video thumbnails 80px wide on mobile."
Include exact measurements. Use pixels, percentages, colors, or dimensions whenever possible.
Share references. Upload screenshots or provide website URLs to show the design you want.
Mention mobile and desktop. Specify whether a change should apply to mobile, desktop, or both.
Make changes one at a time. This makes it easier to review the results and refine the design.
Tell the AI what should stay unchanged. For example, "Only change the button color. Keep the existing layout, fonts, and spacing."
