Introduction
For You Feed is a full-screen shoppable video feed that opens when the page loads. Shoppers can swipe or scroll through videos, view product details, and shop directly from the feed.
It helps merchants create a TikTok-style shopping experience for product discovery, launches, best sellers, UGC, and campaign content.
You can create, configure, and preview For You Feed in Tolstoy. Publishing it to your live store requires a paid Shoppable Videos plan.
How to Set Up
From the Tolstoy new platform, go to Widgets.
Open Templates.
Select For You Feed.
Click to create the widget. Then click 'Create My Own'.
In the widget workspace, open the Tolstoy Media panel - 'Playlist'.
Choose the videos you want to include in the feed - do this by clicking the 'Manual Edit' button to filter the contents.
Use high-quality vertical videos.
Tag videos with the correct products.
Pin priority videos if you want them to appear first.
Click Save to update the widget with the selected media, filters, sort order, and pins.
Preview the feed and test the shopper experience from video view to product click or add-to-cart.
How to Publish
In the For You Feed workspace, click Publish.
If prompted, upgrade to a paid plan.
Once published, open the publish dropdown and copy the embed code.
In Shopify, create or open the page/template where the For You Feed should live.
Add a Tolstoy Builder block.
Paste the embed code into the Widget Code field.
Click Save.
Open the live page and confirm the full-screen feed loads correctly.
Because For You Feed takes over the page, it works best on a dedicated page or landing page rather than inside a small homepage section.
Best Practices
Use vertical videos with strong first seconds.
Keep the feed focused on one goal, such as discovery, a launch, or best sellers.
Tag each video with products so shoppers can shop from the feed.
Put your strongest videos first.
Test product cards, add-to-cart, and product links before publishing.
Use a dedicated page so the full-screen experience feels intentional.
Review feed views and exits to understand shopper engagement.
Troubleshooting / FAQs
Why is Tolstoy asking me to upgrade before publishing?
Publishing For You Feed requires a paid Shoppable Videos plan.
The feed is published, but I do not see it on my store.
Make sure the Tolstoy Builder block was added to the correct Shopify page or template, the embed code was pasted, and the theme was saved.
The feed is taking over a page where I did not expect it.
For You Feed is designed as a full-screen experience. Move it to a dedicated page or template if you do not want it inside a regular storefront section.
Why are product cards missing?
Product cards depend on videos being tagged with products. Check the media tags, sync media, and publish again.
I updated the videos, but the live feed did not change.
Click Sync media first, then click Publish update.
How do I remove For You Feed?
Pause the widget in Tolstoy, or remove the Tolstoy Builder block from your Shopify theme.
