How to Invite a Team Member to Your Tolstoy Workspace

Written by Mikaela Lasig

Team Management lets you invite teammates into your Tolstoy workspace so you can collaborate in one shared account instead of using one login across multiple people. This helps merchants keep projects, settings, and workspace access organized across their team. Inviting and managing team members is a paid-plan collaboration feature.

Click your Account → Go to Settings

Click Team Management → Enter the email you want to invite → Click Send Invite

Check the Team Members list to confirm the teammate appears with a pending status.

If you are the workspace owner, use Resend Invite if the teammate did not receive the email.

If needed, use Copy Invite Link to share the invitation URL directly.

After the teammate joins, use the action menu to update their role or remove them from the workspace.

Troubleshooting / FAQs

Why can't I invite a team member?
Team collaboration requires a paid plan. If your workspace is on a free plan, upgrade first.

Why does Tolstoy say the email address is invalid?
Make sure you entered a full email address in a valid format, such as name@company.com.

What does pending mean?
Pending means the invitation was sent, but the teammate has not accepted it yet.

What if my teammate did not receive the invite email?
If you are the workspace owner, use Resend Invite. You can also use Copy Invite Link and send the link directly.

Why can't the invited teammate join the workspace?
They need to accept the invitation while signed in with the same email address that received the invite. If they are signed in with a different email, Tolstoy will ask them to sign out and use the invited email instead.

Can I change a teammate's role after inviting them?
Yes. The workspace owner can update roles, transfer ownership to an admin, resend invites, copy invite links, and remove members from the Team Members list.

Do I need to publish anything after sending an invite?
No. Once the teammate accepts the invitation, they are added to the workspace automatically.
