How to Create and Publish Complete the Look (AI Widget)

Set up and publish the Complete the Look AI Widget for product-page outfit recommendations, generation, and cart.

Written by David T

Complete the Look is an AI Widget for product pages. Shoppers start from the page product, upload or reuse a photo, pick complementary products and exact variants, generate a still-image look, reopen earlier looks, and add selected variants to cart.

It is separate from Virtual Try-On / See It On You. Use Complete the Look for multi-product outfits.

How to Set Up

  1. In Tolstoy, open Widgets → Virtual Try-On → Complete the look (or Explore widgets → Virtual Try-On → Complete the Look).

Widget templates — Complete the Look
  2. Select Complete the Look and create the widget. The new chat page opens with the message box populated with the Complete the Look template — click the send button. Optionally, you can also describe changes or additions in your own words before you send it.

Complete the Look selected in the chat message box — ready to send
  3. Confirm the Browser preview is on a Product page context (widget button on the product page).

How to Publish

  1. Click Publish and confirm in the Ready to publish? pop-up.

  2. On a live product page, confirm recommendations load after you open the widget and that Generate waits for the shopper to click it.

Best Practices

  • Use on apparel or outfit product pages where complementary categories matter.

  • Keep variant choices exact across generation, history, and cart.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Where do I find Complete the Look?

Widgets → Virtual Try-On → Complete the look (or Explore widgets → Virtual Try-On). Not the older native settings route.

Is this the same as Virtual Try-On?

No. Virtual Try-On tries products on the shopper; Complete the Look builds a multi-product look.

Why didn’t a look generate when I opened the widget?

Looks wait for an explicit Generate look click.
