Managing high volumes of video content is easier when your storage and creation tools work together. By connecting your Google Drive to Tolstoy, you can effortlessly sync your raw footage or edited assets directly into your Library for use in shoppable widgets and AI Studio projects.

Why Sync Google Drive?

  • Automated Content Pipeline: Eliminate the need to manually download and re-upload large video files between platforms.

  • Centralized Storage: Keep your master files in Google Drive while managing your interactive versions within Tolstoy.

  • Team Collaboration: Shared Drive folders allow your creative team to drop content into a specific folder that syncs directly to your Tolstoy account.

How to Connect and Import Assets

Follow these steps to integrate your Google Drive folder:

  1. Prepare Your Drive: Log in to your Google Drive account. Create a dedicated folder (e.g., "Tolstoy Assets") and upload the videos you wish to use.

  2. Access Asset Settings: Log in to your Tolstoy account and navigate to the Google Drive Asset page: https://platform.gotolstoy.com/my-assets/google-drive.

  3. Connect Your Account: If you haven't linked your Google Drive account yet, click the 'Connect Google Drive' button on the page and follow the prompts to authorize Tolstoy to access your Drive.

  4. Configure the Source Folder: Under the Source Folder section, select the Selected Folder option.

  5. Select Your Folder: A window will appear showing your Google Drive directory.

Locate and select the folder you created in Step 1.

  6. Populate Assets: Once the folder is set, Tolstoy will scan the directory and populate the page with your recently uploaded Google Drive assets.

  7. Import to Library: These assets initially appear in a "Draft" state within the Google Drive tab. To use them in your projects, click the [+] (Add to My Media) button on the specific video you want to import.

  8. Finalize: The video will now be available in your main Library, where you can tag products, add interactive elements, or include it in a playlist.

Key Troubleshooting Tips

  • Permissions: Ensure the Google Drive folder you select has "Read" permissions enabled for the account you connected to Tolstoy.

  • File Formats: Tolstoy supports most standard video formats (MP4, MOV). If a file isn't appearing, ensure it has finished fully processing within Google Drive before syncing.

  • Sync Time: Depending on the file size, it may take a few moments for newly added Drive files to appear in the Tolstoy dashboard.
