We’re excited to announce a new partnership between Tolstoy and Walmart! This means Tolstoy brands can now get their videos featured for free on the homepage of Walmart.com — one of the biggest retail platforms in the world.

This is a huge opportunity to increase product visibility and reach new customers — at no extra cost.

🚀 How It Works

  1. Upload or select your existing videos in Tolstoy.

  2. Tag the products featured in each video.

  3. Add the videos to a playlist titled “Walmart.”

  4. Tolstoy reviews and sends batches of videos to Walmart every week.

  5. Walmart selects which videos to publish — starting on the homepage and expanding to other sections of the site.

💡 This is an ongoing program, so continue uploading new videos to stay eligible and increase your chances of being featured.

✅ Requirements for Getting Featured on Walmart.com

To be considered for Walmart’s shoppable video carousel, your videos must meet the following criteria:

1. Create a Playlist Named “Walmart

2. Tag Products in Your Videos. Each video must have tagged products.

This is essential: Walmart uses this data to match videos to relevant customer searches. For example, if a user searches for "shoe," your tagged video might appear in the Featured in Videos section.

3. Keep Videos Under 1 Minute. Walmart only accepts videos that are less than 60 seconds long.

4. Videos must not include background music — Walmart may mute or reject them. Use spoken audio or voiceover instead.

5. Use UGC-Style Videos with Someone Speaking. Review-style, demo-style, or testimonial-style content.
6. Add Creator Handles - If the video features a creator or influencer, add their social handle to the video in Tolstoy’s library.
7. Video requirements:

Min Height Pixels: 1280
Min Width Pixels: 720
Min Duration Seconds: 5
Max Duration Seconds: 60
Minimum aspect ratio: Greater than 0.5625 (or 9/16)

📊 What About Performance Data?

Walmart does not share performance metrics (views, clicks, conversions).
This is standard for all partners.

Tolstoy acts as the content pipeline, not the player — so we don’t receive metrics. Walmart personalizes the experience and shows different videos to each shopper based on relevance.

📝 Helpful Notes

  • Not all videos will be selected. Walmart curates which videos go live.

  • Start small and grow: Add 10-20 videos to begin, and continue uploading regularly.

  • Need help submitting videos? For new customers, we can collect videos via a spreadsheet and send them manually.
